"Actions are only [considered according to [their intentions, and everyone will have [nothing but the reward of what they intended. So whoever's emigration was to gain a worldly benefit, or to marry a woman, his emigration was for whatever he emigrated for."

al-Humaydī, 'Abdullāh ibn az-Zubayr narrated to us, saying: Sufyān narrated to us, from Yaḥyā ibn Sa'eed al-Anṣārī, that he said: Muḥammad ibn Ibrāhim at-Taymī informed me that he heard 'Alqamah ibn Waqqāṣ al-Laythī say: I heard 'Umar ibn al-Khaṭṭāb upon the _minbar_ say: I heard the Messenger of Allah (may the peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him) say:
